On Friday, February 7th, I visited Woodbury Middle School to help evaluate and give feedback on their skills21 project ideas. It was amazing to see the creative minds of these dedicated middle schoolers. They had very humanitarian projects that they seemed very passionate about. I also had the ability to share my own project with them which helped me practice explaining my project to other people, especially younger kids who don’t have the same background knowledge as my peers. I also was able to ‘wow’ them with the simple Roar AR work that I and one of my classmates accomplished the week prior. Although we must change AR programs, skills21 is providing accounts to Zappar, it was good practice for working in ar and troubleshooting. If I am able to bring an AR experience to those who visit my booth at the expo, I’m sure they will walk away feeling at least a small sense of wonder. They provided feedback that wasn’t entirely helpful, but It was a great experience regardless. I was able to talk with the teacher, Amy Shuhart, who provided me with another mentor that fits with my project very well. I am currently waiting to receive his contact information and plan to reach out to him as soon as possible. I am also currently in communication with Ron Brandes, a member of the citizen climate lobby. I hope that he is able to help me with my ability to market my product to the government.
