I am not a good planner. I usually have a very loose schedule for myself, but having such a large task ahead of me, sitting down and budgeting my time was an important step to creating a complete project. Setting up specific goals with deadlines to accomplish them will help me stay on track when the end goal seems somewhat unreachable. Since I know that I if I do not complete the business aspects of my project before I work on the design elements, I gave myself the first month and a half to only work on creating many important businesses analyzes such as a SWOT and PEST. These will help me when developing my business plan because they define the market climate that I am entering with future skies and addresses the potential competitors that I will be sharing this space with. The business plan is another important document that will be worked on at this time. This will take up much of my time due to the length of it and I am slightly afraid of taking on this daunting task. It will not be finished until after my experiments but it should contain a skeleton to fit those aspects in as soon as they are completed. The other thing that I completed around this time was my branding. I love graphic design, but for some reason, a logo just didn’t come to me for this one. I spent many days sketching different patterns and debating whether I wanted a more geometric shape to use without the company title, or if the title should be the logo itself. I eventually went with a geometric shape that shows a building growing through different colors. While researching other architecture firms I noticed a trend. Blue, grey and gold. The logos were very similar and when deciding on a color scheme, I wanted to make sure I stood out. I also wanted to create a company that embodied the future and was something that could be sophisticated without losing the heart and soul of my target environment, cities. Using the classic future neon color scheme of blue, pink and purple achieved this effect for me. With both of these aspects completed, it was time to begin heavier research.
